this is the original scotty mount and can be mounted horizontally or vertically hence referred to as side or deck mount. Our riber sit on kayak has 4 brass nuts in middle which line up with the hole pattern in this making it very easy to fit, you can then fit your favourite scotty rod holder. I also normally have the scotty bolt pack in stock if you dont want to search for screws
